Description:
Constructed as part of the $107M General Campus Redevelopment project, three floors were added to the existing Eye Institute. The Stem Cell Labs were designed to accommodate a variety of researchers developing genetically based therapies for diseases. Also constructed as part of the redevelopment, the Eastern Ontario Regional Laboratory serves as the central lab for hospitals throughout Eastern Ontario for non-core lab procedures.
This addition/renovation to the hospital is characterized by a bright, inviting environment throughout to support leading researchers. The facilities include a blend of general purpose laboratories for genomics resarch and specialized facilities including bioinfomatics and proteomics research spaces, a world class GMP clean laboratory and administrative spaces including reception and offices, conference facilities and staff amenities.
