Completion Date:

Description:
The client’s desire to create a more functional, comfortable home within which they would live, entertain, and enjoy views to their garden, was achieved by opening up their living spaces. In order to do this a load-bearing wall was removed. The load of the second floor was supported on new paralam transfer beams. In the final design, three rooms were converted into an open concept kitchen, living room and family room, creating a spacious, more functional area. Views of the client’s garden created a calming connection between the exterior and the interior spaces. This appreciation of the natural environment was extended to the choice of new interior finishes such as granite countertops and tumbled stone backsplash in combination with beautiful wood flooring, cabinets, and fireplace mantelpiece.
